Actress Lee Min-jung moved to tears by mother’s confessions
The hosts of the SBS show “Healing Camp” surprised Lee Min-hung with a surprise video appearance by her mother, whose emotional comments drew tears from the 29-year-old actress.In the prerecorded clip, the star’s mother discussed how Lee upset her a number of times as she grew up.
“You always told me that I wasn’t expressive, and that hurt,” the mother said. “Also, when you said that you wanted to move out, I was so sad. I wanted to ask if I did something wrong, but because I am an introverted person, I couldn’t.”
Lee, visibly moved by her mother’s confessions, said that her mother was like an angel and that she proved a lot more talkative on camera than she is in everyday life. The show’s hosts joined in the praise, insisting that Lee must have inherited her beauty from her mother.
Also on the show, Lee made a shocking confession of her own, revealing that criticism from netizens put her in the hospital with stress-related stomach cramps. She became the target of vicious online fans after an appearance on another television show, “Full of Ambition,” on which the host suggested Lee was one of the five hottest actresses from Gangnam, southern Seoul, alongside Jun Ji-hyun, Song Hye-gyo, Seo Ji-young and Park Ji-yoon.
On that show, Lee insisted that actress Han Hye-jin was actually the fifth woman on the widely circulated top-five list. Netizens strongly agreed, saying online that Lee could never make the cut.
