Korean figure skater and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics gold medalist Kim Yu-na is shown above in the U.S. textbook “Algebra and Trigonometry: A Graphing Approach.” Kim’s photo appears in a chapter explaining circular and sexagesimal measure of angles.
Kim’s agency, All That Sports, said although this is a violation of portrait rights since the textbook company did not receive permission, it decided not sue the company because it didn’t consider it commercial use. [YONHAP]
