Samsung Heavy nets wind turbine contract in Scotland
Samsung Heavy Industries said yesterday it will launch a project to build an offshore wind turbine in Scotland. Samsung Heavy will build the wind turbine with a capacity of seven kilowatts at the Fife Energy Park in Methil. But the company declined to provide specifics on when the project will start or how much it will spend.Samsung and other Korean shipbuilders have been seeking to nurture solar and wind power-related business as part of efforts to diversify their business portfolios amid weak demand for new ships.
