We are dumbfounded by the shocking revelation by Ismael’s parents that the principal of the school did nothing but reprimand three students who frequently used violence against Ismael./ 이스마엘 부모의 얘기에 따르면 이 학교 교장이 폭력을 행사한 학생 3 명을 불러 훈계 한 번 한 것으로 끝냈다고 하니 한심하기 짝이 없다/ What parents would send their kids to a school that maintains such a dismissive attitude about the collective use of physical violence against a young boy?/ 한 어린 소년에게 물리적인 폭력을 집단적으로 행사하는 것을 무시하는 태도를 보이는 학교에 어느 부모가 아이를 보낼 수 있겠는가?/

That is why “multicultural education” should focus on teaching people to accept difference./ 이것이 바로 “다문화 교육”이 차이를 수용할 수 있도록 가르치는 사람에 초점을 맞추어야 하는 이유다/ What counts most is not theory but practice./ 말로만 하는 이론 교육이 아니라 실천 교육이어야 한다/ Society must help Ismael communicate with the rest of the world again./ 사회는 이스마엘이 나머지 세상 사람들과 다시 소통을 할 수 있도록 도와야 한다/
