Samsung Electronics mulls merging with display unit
Samsung Electronics said yesterday it is considering merging with its flatscreen display-making unit in a bid to improve business synergy.In a regulatory filing, the company said it may absorb Samsung Mobile Display, a joint venture with its affiliate Samsung SDI, but added that no decision has been reached.
Samsung Mobile Display, a joint venture with Samsung and its affiliate, was set up in 2008. It primarily produces OLED displays for mobile devices such as smartphones. Yonhap
