Face off

The Paris-based Korean artist Kwun Sun-cheol, 68, has for the last four decades attempted to capture zeitgeists and personal histories in the faces he portrays. His latest solo show at Gana Art Center in Pyeongchang-dong, northern Seoul, features about 30 oil portraits and another 30 sketches. In particular, he uses silent eloquence of layered colors and strokes to tell viewers how much time and experience a human face can carry. The show continues through March 4.
