2012.2.27 CARTOON

The opposition Democratic United Party - led by former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook - is campaigning under the banner of “Judge the corrupt Lee Myung-bak administration.” The campaign is being spearheaded by DUP Secretary General Im Jong-seok and former lawmaker Lee Hwa-young, both of whom were themselves indicted for taking bribes. All in all, it looks as though the party, many members of which are also part of the so-called 486 generation (people currently in their 40s, educated and politically active in the 1980s and born in the 1960s), has made a surprising comeback ahead of the April 11 legislative elections.
