The nation’s first blind judge, Choi Young, 32, starts work at the Seoul Northern District Court in Dobong District yesterday after the induction ceremony of new judges at the Supreme Court earlier that day. Choi lost his vision to retinal degeneration in the middle of his law studies at Seoul National University but passed the bar exam in 2008. He said, “I will try to be in a position to listen to the voice of the people.” [YONHAP]
