Hyundai Motor Group chief named director of E&C unit

Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Mong-koo was appointed standing director of Hyundai Engineering and Construction after a board meeting yesterday, the construction firm said. Jung Soo-hyun, chief executive officer of the construction firm, was also named standing director.

At the shareholders’ meeting of Hyundai E&C on March 16, Chung and Jung will officially be appointed standing directors. Chung is expected to participate in the construction firm’s management with the appointment. Hyundai Motor Group acquired the construction firm in March 2011.

“The appointment of Chairman Chung Mong-koo is aimed at strengthening responsible management .?.?. and improving the competitiveness of the company, one of the three growth engines within the group,” Hyundai Motor said in a statement.
