Lee Min-woo fulfills military service in time for concert

Lee Min-woo of the 1990s boy band Shinhwa met with fans upon being honorably discharged from serving the public as a part of his military service.

The discharge ceremony at a hall in Seoul Station was held yesterday.

In front of more than 200 fans, Lee appeared clad in a leather jacket, looking much like himself even after two years away from the spotlight.

“I only slept two hours last night because I was so excited to meet my fans. It’s so weird seeing all the cameras again,” Lee said.

He said his band will not be positioning itself against new idol groups and would stick to its own flavor.

“I’m proud that we’ve stuck together after all these years and I’m sure the fans will be happy to hear our unique music.”

Following a four-year hiatus, Shinhwa will reunite on Monday at the CGV cinema in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul, to share plans to promote its 10th album. They will also hold a concert on March 24 and 25.
