LG picks up 14 awards at top European design ceremony

LG Electronics said yesterday that 14 of its products have been feted at Germany’s Red Dot Design Award 2012. It picked up nine at the same event last year.

Of these, 14 received Red Dot product awards and two got an honorable mention. The former group included two 3-D TVs and the company’s ultrabook Z330, while the latter comprised one of its three-door refrigerators and a dishwasher.

The international awards are dished out every year by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. They are one of three major global design awards.

This year, 4,515 products were submitted from 1,800 companies in 58 countries.
