LG Display cranks up Mexico plant to supply North AmericaLG Display, a leading global panel maker, said yesterday that it has started production at its plant in Reynosa, Mexico to better meet market demand in North America.
The company said the liquid crystal display module manufacturing line went online at a plant owned by its affiliate LG Electronics in the border city just across the Rio Grande and the United States border.
The LCD maker said that by working together with LG Electronics, the companies can consolidate the so-called backlight, module and TV set manufacturing process to significantly reduce handling and logistics costs, and make it easier to control inventory.
