Shinsegae sees upswing in sexy lingerie sales online
Shinsegae Mall, an online shopping mall operated by Shinsegae Department Store, has been running an online pop-up store that sells erotic lingerie from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. since early this month. The undergarments are not for everyday use and tend to offer striking features, such as string panties that stretch to wrap around the shoulders and waist, or fishnet stockings that cover most of the body. Since opening the pop-up store, sales during this eight-hour period have risen 5 percentage points to account for 18 percent of Shinsegae Mall’s total daily online underwear sales, the store said.
