Kia and SK make strategic partnership for ‘convergence’

Kia Motors and SK Telecom signed an agreement yesterday for a strategic partnership, the companies said.

The partnership is to further converge in automobiles and information technologies and to provide more differentiated services to customers. The two companies said they will improve their competitiveness in automobiles and the telecommunication markets together.

The two companies will share information on customers, and SK will purchase Kia’s hybrid vehicles or city cars.

It will also give priority to Kia cars when it buys luxury sedans used for formal occasions.

Kia will utilize smartphones and tablet PCs from SK Telecom for its sales and repair services.
