To commemorate the birth of Sin Saimdang (1504-1551), a calligraphy contest was held at the Namsangol Hanok Village in central Seoul on Thursday. Sin was a Korean artist, writer, calligraphist and the mother of noted Korean Confucian scholar Yulgok. Many Koreans see her as a model mother. [YONHAP]
