Ministry paves way for flights to Paraguay as ties strengthen

Korea’s airlines can now launch air routes to Paraguay for the first time.

The Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs announced yesterday that it has reached an agreement with Paraguay’s aviation office to operate flights between the two countries.

There is no limitation on the number of flights or type of aircraft used, according to the ministry.

The government expects to see traveler numbers to and from Paraguay rise along with more active exchanges of goods.

“To prepare for the possible increase of trade volume between Korea and other countries in South America after the recent free trade agreements with Chile and Peru, we will continue to strengthen ties with aviation offices there,” the Transport Ministry said.
