Chinese not seen as threat to local smartphone makers yet
China’s mobile phone makers are not competitive enough to threaten their Korean rivals despite the former’s rise in the global market, a report said yesterday.Korea Investment & Securities said in the report that even though companies such as ZTE and Huawei Technologies have risen as notable players in the global handset market, Korean manufacturers still have a sharper competitive edge.
“We believe Chinese players are unlikely to stand in the way of Korean firms in achieving growth,” it said.
