Kim Char-young takes Match Play title

Kim Char-young won the Doosan Match Play Championship yesterday to claim her second straight KLPGA victory.

At the Ladena Country Club in Chuncheon, Gangwon, the 21-year-old Kim beat Jung Yeon-ju, last year’s KLPGA Rookie of the Year, and won the KLPGA’s only match play tournament.

Kim, who marked her first career KLPGA victory last weekend at the 2012 Woori Investment & Securities Ladies Championship, also collected 100 million won ($84,400) purse.

Meanwhile, in the third-place match, Lim Ji-na edged Yang Je-yoon with one final hole remaining.
