LG in charge
A model shows off LG Electronics’ wireless charging pad for smartphones, which received the coveted “Qi” standard at the 26th general meeting of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) last week. Qi is the global standard for wireless power and charging accredited by the organization. Any smartphone made by a WPC member is compatible with the pad. Established in 2008, the WPC represents 110 telecom companies and mobile phone makers, including Nokia and Vodafone. Twenty, including LG, are regular members. [YONHAP]
