Ssangyong ups benefits for staffSsangyong Motor laid out a plan yesterday to support employees who are forced to take extended but unpaid leaves of absence after it agreed with its labor union to provide them with financial aid and, where appropriate, help them search for new jobs.
Many of Ssangyong’s employees have either been laid off or taken long leaves of absence in the last few years as the company has encountered financial difficulties.
The automaker has agreed to offer financial aid to help its employees pay their children’s education costs, as well as give them gifts during major holidays and offer them cheaper Ssangyong stocks. It will also help staff land jobs with its contractors by compensating the companies.
