KT’s LTE coverage outpacing rivals

Despite being the last mover when it comes to the fourth-generation long-term evolution (LTE) connection, KT has wider regional coverage in the Seoul Metropolitan Area than its competitors LG U+ and SK Telecom, the carrier claimed in a release yesterday.

Although KT jumped into the LTE business in January, six months after its two chief rivals, it has rapidly expanded its coverage by adding an average of 1,000 base stations per day, it said.

KT launched its nationwide LTE network in April. Its base stations now total 144.
