Commandos parachute from a CN-235 transport plane yesterday in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, in a large-scale, joint military exercise with the U.S. aimed at honing the countries’ joint capability to cope with North Korea. The exercise in Pocheon, near the border with the North, involved more than 2,000 troops, F-15K combat fighter jets, Apache attack helicopters and tanks, and about 10 warships and submarines, including the George Washington Carrier Striker Group.[YONHAP]
