[Letters] Korea, as a core for new industrial era

I had the opportunity to hear a lecture by one of the most famous social thinkers in the world. Jeremy Rifkin, the bestselling author of “The European Dream” among others, visited Kaist to give a lecture titled “The Third Industrial Revolution and Our Future.” After hearing Rifkin’s explanation about the new revolution, I was convinced his suggestions could solve today’s energy problem and realized that Korea was the perfect place to implement this “Third Revolution.” For example, Korea is one of few nations that can commercialize hydrogen cars. If we start to share consciousness on the matter of oil-based society and start preparing for the incoming future, Korea can be the early bird which catches the worm. I believe we can be the pioneering country of the “Third revolution.”
