Hanwha joins fight against deforestation in China
Hanwha Group will start supplying electricity for a forestation project in China in an effort to combat desertification. The group said yesterday it completed an 80-kilowatt photovoltaic plant in Linguo, Ningxia, an autonomous region of China.The power generated at the plant will be used to raise seedlings on an 8.55-million-square-meter (92-million-square-foot) area of land of a natural reserve in the city. Hanwha is the first company in the world to utilize its solar power production capability to fight desertification.
