테스트

Employees of GS Caltex and teenagers from the Yeosu Factory’s nearby towns visited the northern area of Cambodia and conducted environmental improvement project.

Under the slogan “Beautiful World Through Energy Sharing,” GS Caltex is conducting active public service projects with two themes “Green Sharing” and “Community Involvement.”

As part of the “Green Sharing,” employees of GS Caltex are working to help the environment refugees, the third-world citizens who are suffering from drastic climate change and lack of energy. Last year, the company employees and teenagers from the Yeosu Factory’s nearby towns visited the northern area of Cambodia as a volunteer group and conducted environmental improvement projects like developing clean drinking water facilities, providing water purifier, repairing roads and building child care facilities.

This year under the theme of “Global Energy Plus,” the company plans to conduct projects like developing and supplying continuous energy source as solar energy lamp in less developed countries. GS Caltex is planning to construct a solar energy development center in Cambodia and focus on solar energy charging station and solar energy technology education and product supply. The company will also dispatch a second group composed of with company employees and children to continue and expand the sharing culture.

Under the theme of “Community Involvement,” GS Caltex has been conducting nationwide volunteer activities in Seoul, Yeosu and Daejeon for disabled children. This annual event takes place in May and employees and their families participate actively in this program which started in 2004. Last year, the company prepared a program at the national parks so disabled children can go outside and experience the ecosystem and enjoy the nature. This year the company has offered trips to the Yeosu Expo to multicultural families and single-parent families. The children had a chance to look around Hapcheon Haein Temple and listen to historical explanation of Tripitaka Koreana and visit Mount Gaya National Park to experience the nature and learn about history.

GS Caltex has been returning its company profit to the local society which has been the base of growth and development of the company for the past 45 years. To grow together with the local society and to help the Yeosu citizens enjoy culture more than before, the company created a cultural art park, which has exhibition halls, atelier, energy promotion hall, coastal pedestrian walk and various facilities. The Yeulmaru is a good model case where the local society and company are working together for each other’s development, where Yeosu City is working closely with GS Caltex.
