Daewoo sending Mini washers to 30 countries to boost brand

Daewoo Electronics said yesterday it will export its Mini wall-mounted washing machines overseas to 30 countries including France, Spain, Peru and Russia.

Among South American countries, it is set to ship the washers to Peru, Chile, Mexico, Panama and Brazil.

In Europe, it has earned an exclusive space in El Corte Ingles Department Store in Spain, and plans to expand to France, England and Germany in the second half of the year.

In addition, Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine will start retailing the washers from next month, while Japan and China will follow suit in October.

Cumulative sales have reached 10,000 units in the domestic market in just three months since its launch.

“Mini is the world’s first and only wall-mounted drum-type washing machine. It is expected to play a significant role in increasing revenue as well as enhancing the company’s brand image,” said a Daewoo Electronics spokesman.
