Debris collects in a lake yesterday in Okcheon County, North Chungcheong. The barrier was built by the Korea Water Resources Corporation. Due to heavy rain starting last week in the country’s central regions, the Daecheong Lake, a source of drinking water for North and South Chungcheong residents, has become ridden with trash as garbage floated upstream into it.
