F-1 cars to get special treatment from Hanjin ahead of GP

Hanjin Group, the nation’s leading logistics service provider, was named the official shipping and logistics sponsor for this year’s Korean F-1 Grand Prix yesterday.

The conglomerate, which has companies like Hanjin Shipping and Korean Air under its wing, will now be responsible for transporting the high-tech F1 cars and other specialized equipment used at the pinnacle of motor racing. The race is scheduled for Oct. 12 to 14 in Yeongam, South Jeolla.

“With our experience and service, we will put our best foot forward to make sure the event is a success,” Hanjin said in a statement.

The group will provide special vehicles to reduce road vibrations, it said.

This is the third straight year that the group has been taking care of shipments for the F-1 event. It previously served as an official logistics partner for the 2012 Yeosu Expo.
