France’s Citroen unbeatable for fuel efficiency in Korea

Citroen’s DS3 is the most fuel-efficient car in Korea, according to data released by Korea Energy Management Corporation (Kemco) on Tuesday. It said the DS3 1.4 e-HDi offers fuel economy of 20.2 kilometers per liter (47.5 miles per gallon), followed by the DS3 1.6 e-HDi model, offering 19 kilometers per liter. Third place was taken by Citroen’s DS4 1.6 e-HDi, a five-door hatchback, at 17.6 kilometers per liter.

Other highly economical cars include Volkswagen’s Golf Cabriolet 2.0 TDi BlueMotion and Audi’s A4 2.0 TDi.

Kemco said it tested 187 cars that were released this year based on the new fuel-efficiency standards set out by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. Cars that were tested last year based on the former measurement standards, such as Toyota’s Prius, were omitted from the list. The DS3 was launched in April, while the DS4 went on sale last month.
