LG Optimus 4X HD named top smartphone by German magA smartphone produced by LG Electronics, the world’s No. 3 handset maker, has been chosen as the best model by a German trade magazine, industry sources said yesterday.
The tech giant’s LG Optimus 4X HD, first introduced to the European market in May, topped the September review of six smartphone models in the Germany-based consumer magazine Connect.
The LG Optimus 4X HD, with a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display, is powered by a quad-core processor and runs on Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
The model received high marks for its call quality, radio-frequency functions, wireless-fidelity network compatibility and its variety of useful features.
Connect awarded the LG smartphone a total of 406 points, the third-highest mark to be given to smartphones reviewed by the tech magazine in the past two years, following rival Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note, which received 425 points and 416 points, respectively.
