Legendary lake
Baeknok Lake is one of three areas of Mt. Halla on Jeju Island that will be designated Scenic Sites by the Cultural Heritage Administration. Formed by volcanic eruption, it is about 1.7 kilometers (one mile) in circumference and 110 meters (361 feet) deep. Legend has it that virtuous men used water from here to make special liquors.
