Kyung Hee Univ. wins college basketball title

Kyung Hee University won the national college basketball title for the second year in a row after beating Chung-Ang University 91-73 in the second game of the best-of-three champion series of the KB College Basketball League held in Yongin, Gyeonggi, yesterday.

Du Gyeong-min scored 29 points for Kyung Hee while Kim Min-gu and Kim Jong-gyu added 26 points and 19 points, respectively. Jang Jae-seok led the Chung-Ang offense with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Kyung Hee beat Chung-Ang 95-55 in the first game of the series, which was held on Wednesday. Chung-Ang was the 2010 champion.

A total of 12 colleges, most of which are located in Seoul, vied for the KB title, the country’s largest of its kind.

Kyung Hee reached the final series after defeating Yonsei University 2-0 in the best-of-three semifinal series late last month.

Chung-Ang beat Korea University 2-0 in their semifinals series.
