SM boot camp covered by ABC

American-based ABC News aired a special coverage on the ins and outs of the industry that is “poised to be South Korea’s biggest export.”

The episode that aired on Oct. 15 had reporter Akiko Fujita go behind the scenes at SM Entertainment and offered glimpses of the grueling training process undertaken by hundreds of aspiring entertainers.

The program said that every week hundreds gathered for a spot at the agency’s audition and that these super groups of K-pop were “built,” rather than born with natural talent.

For the first time, the famed K-pop agency, home to Super Junior, Girls’ Generation and SHINee, allowed ABC in on the lessons that take place there from dance and vocal training to Korean language classes.
