[Sponsored Report] Lift safety expo boasts ‘green tech’

Korea Lift Safety Exposition, which features a wide range of topics from the engineering behind elevators to the change of technologies, future development of lifts, will take place for four days from today to Friday at COEX with “Green City” as its theme.

The Korea Lift Safety Exposition 2012 is hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, organized by Korea Elevator Safety Institute and COEX in southern Seoul.

At this exhibition, there will be unique elevators such as slanted elevators, pedestrian overpass elevator and various complete elevators and parts and accessories. The hottest item high-speed elevator will be on display including various new technology products like the regenerated energy engrafted elevator. To resolve the overall issues of the industry like elevator technology, safety and low-carbon green growth, conglomerates, small- and medium-sized companies, 78 public organizations, companies and universities will participate to showcase their products and technology.

The Korea Elevator Safety Institute will operate a consulting booth to attract the buyers of the large markets including China and India as well as the potential local buyers. The exhibition hall will be designed so the visitors can actually try out the equipments. So the plan is to promote the need and importance of elevator management, diagnosis and consulting.

Furthermore, there will be science hall where you can learn various and hidden secret technologies of elevator operation. At the national safety hall children can also experience elevator safety rules. There will also be pantomime performances for the children with the lessons on elevator safety. High-level expert seminars and workshops are also scheduled.

Through the combined conference on overseas lift safety technology, trend and skyscrapers among the participating companies and staff, it will offer useful information and provide vision to the participants. The expo will open alongside a conference on ISO/TC 178 with opinion leaders from some 20 countries. It also aims to promote the elevator technology to the world.

At this event Ian Todkill, the director of Pacific Asia Lift and Escalator Association, Esfandiar Gharibaan, chairman of CEN/TC10, and Louis Bialy, vice chairman of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, among other opinion leaders from the elevator industry will partake in the Expo.

The expo is expected to be an arena where organizations and related companies will provide various products and solutions for green development of the city.
