Korea’s carrier rocket, the Naro-3, is installed on its launch pad at 5:11 p.m. yesterday following its transfer from an assembly complex in Goheung County, South Jeolla, two days before its scheduled launch tomorrow. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute said the rocket has also been successfully connected to the cable mast, which is a pillar-like structure that houses all wires and gas pumps connected to the rocket. A launch rehearsal will he held today, and the time of the launch will be announced at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow. It will be Korea’s third attempt to send the Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1 into space after two earlier attempts in August 2009 and June 2010. The ongoing space program, scheduled to end early next year, began in 2002 when the country decided to develop its own means to put satellites into space. [YONHAP]
