Lotte chair met Vietnamese president to talk investmentLotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin met with Truong Tan Sang, the president of Vietnam, and Hoang Trung Hai, the deputy prime minister, in the capital city of?Hanoi on Thursday to discuss methods of cooperation in expanding investment, said Lotte Group yesterday.
The meeting between the Lotte chairman and the president of Vietnam is the second of its kind, after the first meeting in February.
Shin explored ways to expand Lotte’s investment in Vietnam, explaining that the retail giant has been operating businesses in the fields of food, distribution, service and construction in Vietnam since the establishment of Lotte Vietnam Company in 1996.
Shin is planning to visit Malaysia and Singapore and have a meeting with Hatta Rajasa, coordinating minister for economic affairs, and Chatib Basri, chairman of Indonesia’s Investment Coordinating Board, on Monday.
Shin has been asked to attend a disciplinary hearing of the National Policy Committee of the National Assembly on Tuesday together with Hyundai Department Store Group Chairman Chung Ji-sun and Shinsegae Group Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin for being opposed to economic democratization.
