STX to build luxury cruiser for German operator by 2015
STX Group said yesterday that its European unit has clinched a deal to build a large luxury cruise ship. Under the deal with TUI Cruises of Germany, STX Finland will deliver the 99,000-ton ship by 2015, it said in a statement.The business group did not reveal the financial terms of the contract.
The ship, to be built at a yard in Turku, Finland, will be 294 meters long and 36 meters wide, and has the capacity to accommodate 3,500 passengers and crew members.
