Test of tradition
Youngsters try taking a writing exam in the traditional way. A culture center in Gwangju recently held a gwageo - a civil service exam of the Joseon period (1392-1910) - in which about 100 elementary and middle school students took part. They wore traditional attire, sat on the floor (although students were allowed to use desks) and were given a subject to write about. The subject in this exam was Mt. Mudeung in Gwangju. [YONHAP]
