Korea falls one notch to 4th in global ranking

Korea’s global baseball ranking fell one notch to fourth place in 2012 compared to the year before, according to the rating list released Saturday by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF).

The IBAF said the country earned 56.50 ranking points for the whole of this year for a total of 518.20 points. Japan has overtaken Korea in third place and is the highest-ranked country in Asia. Cuba stood at the top of its list at 766.02 points followed by the United States at 733.25 points. Japan, Korea and Taiwan made the top five with Canada coming in sixth and Australia placing last of the 10 countries checked.
