On Jan. 6, KARA will become the first K-pop girl group to perform in the Tokyo Dome. DSP Media announced that all 45,000 seats for the show have been sold out.
Tickets for the “Karasia 2013 Happy New Year in Tokyo Dome” went on sale for fan club members last month, while others were able to buy tickets starting Saturday.
An agency representative said the concert was sold out in about five minutes.
Although TVXQ, Big Bang and Rain have performed in the dome, this marks the first time for a girl group.
Earlier in the year, KARA, which made its Japanese debut three years ago, dazzled more than 130,000 Japanese this year with the group’s “Karasia Tour” that involved performances in six cities throughout the nation from April to June.
The “Karasia Tour” kicked off in Seoul on Feb. 18 and then continued on to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.
