Asiana Airlines named airline of the year by Premier Traveler

Asiana Airlines said yesterday it has been named Airline of the Year by U.S. travel magazine Premier Traveler.

The nation’s second-largest airline said that it won four awards from Premier Traveler at the Ronald McDonald House in New York on Tuesday.

It took Airline of the Year, Best Airline to Asia, Best Flight Attendants in the World and Best Airline Advertising Campaign.

Premier Traveler, which has more than 130,000 subscribers, picks winners in 32 different categories in airline business, based on online votes and in-house expert opinions.

Asiana has been awarded Airline of the Year for four consecutive years, each time from different groups.

In 2009, it won the award from Air Transport World, a monthly magazine that covers airline industry, followed by Skytrax, a London-based consulting firm, in 2010. Last year, it won the top award from Global Traveler.

“Under the motto of customer satisfaction, all of our employees worked together, and that’s what made us receive the airline of the year award for four consecutive years,” said Yoon Young-doo, the CEO of Asiana Airlines. “We will keep offering the best service and safety to our customers.”

Asiana also has held the No. 1 spot in the Korea Consumer Survey Index by the Korea Management Association Consultant for five consecutive years.
