[Sponsored Report] Hyosung donates in the spirit of neighborly love
Hyosung donated 1 billion won ($930,000) to the Community Chest of Korea as part of the “neighbor love fund” on Wednesday.
“Companies have a responsibility to create a happy society as members of the community themselves,” said Ro Jae-bong, executive vice president. “We hope this can be a small help to our neighbors so that they can live with hope despite their difficult circumstances.”
Besides the neighbor love fund, Hyosung also raises donations by collaborating with employees.
Using the funds, the company has been conducting various activities at its local branches in Gumi, North Gyeongsang; Anyang, Gyeonggi; Ulsan; and Changwon, South Gyeongsang, as well as at headquarters. Volunteers have made kimchi, delivered coal briquettes and donated blood.
Recently, Hyosung has also provided management consulting to nine social enterprises through the Work Together Foundation, helping the companies achieve continuous growth and contribute to creating a healthy society.
Hyosung is planning to significantly increase its social contribution activities in 2013.
Centered on its Hyosung social volunteer group, the company adopted the CSE (Creating Social Ecosystem) strategy in order to expand environmental preservation activities.
