Hyundai Amco says it targets orders worth $3.8B in 2013

Hyundai Amco, the construction unit of Korea’s leading automaker Hyundai Motor, said yesterday that it is targeting orders worth 4 trillion won ($3.76 billion) and looks to log 3.3 trillion won in sales in 2013.

Last year, the builder clinched 3.8 trillion won worth of orders and posted 3.2 trillion won in sales.

The builder plans to solidify its presence in Brazil, Turkmenistan, Cambodia, China and other nations while venturing into new emerging markets such as Vietnam and Libya.

On its home turf, Hyundai Amco also plans to beef up energy and its infrastructure businesses.

Hyundai Amco has been seeking to decrease construction orders from outside of Hyundai Motor and its affiliates such as Kia Motors. Hyundai Amco aims to rank among the top five domestic builders by 2015.
