미국 최대의 새해 맞이 축제인 로즈 퍼레이드가 벌어진 1일(현지시간) 캘리포니아 패서디나에서 한국전 참전용사들이 워싱턴 한국전쟁기념조형물을 형상화한 꽃차를 타고 행진한다. “자유는 공짜가 아니다”라는 문구가 쓰여있다. 이 꽃차는 미 국방부가 한국전 휴전 60주년을 맞아 제작했으며 미국의 과거와 현재를 가장 잘 묘사한 꽃차에 주어지는 상을 받았다. [UPI/YONHAP]
