DIABLO

“Dumb”

Label: Sony Music

Genre: Rock

Check the volume before you listen to the new Diablo release. You might get a heart attack at the powerful beat in their first track, “Abandoned.” Under growling voices, however, lies their heart, crying and screaming out for you. A legendary Korean hardcore rock band, Diablo is back with “Dumb.”

More than 19 years of friendship have made their music and lyrics all the more solid and energetic. Although this is their first album in two years, the group has been attracting fans all over the world by performing with such bands as Pantera and Judas Priest.

The band threw away their strong and exploring sound for once and sincerely consoled people in dark places. ”I’ll call your name, but nothing’s gonna change. I’m just waiting for you,” sings the vocalist in “Your Name.”

With a brilliant attempt to remake “Harlem Desire” by London Boys, hot Euro dance music in the 1980s, I feel like “walking the avenue, might as well be on the moon.” They definitely took a step toward more metallic and mature music. By Yoon Hye-sun
