“Realize”

Label: Sony Music

Genre: Indie music

As a fan of guys singing while playing acoustic guitars, eAeon’s newest solo album “Realize” was sweet to my ears. The artist’s soft vocals on top of his classic indie sound make all six tracks worth hearing. His album cover design and the wordbook reminded me of Jason Mraz, as the artist chose the handwriting style font. I don’t know if it was the wordbook or his voice, but I imagined the artist to be somewhat like Mraz. Frankly, I would have been more immersed in his songs if I hadn’t Googled him.

My favorite track is the fourth, “Harder Better Faster Stronger,” which is an acoustic remake of one of my favorite bands, Daft Punk. Of course, Daft Punk’s electronic version is much more catchy and better all around; eAeon’s acoustic spinoff is not bad, either.

“My Little Piggy,” which is the title track of this album, also has an intriguing tune, starting off with the bass. aAeon’s voice goes perfectly with all the acoustic instruments in this daydreaming-like album that actually made me daydream while at work. By Yim Seung-hye
