Local carrier starting direct flights to Shenyang next week

Eastar Jet, Korea’s budget airline, said yesterday it plans to launch a regular flight to the Chinese city of Shenyang next week as it seeks to boost its business in China.

The carrier said it will begin two weekly flights connecting Korea’s central city of Cheongju with the northwestern Chinese city next Wednesday. It said the upcoming service will be available on Wednesdays and Sundays. The airline also said it plans to raise the number of its weekly flights to three, beginning in April. Currently, the carrier flies to and from 29 destinations in China by using chartered flights. Yonhap
