Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s iconic democracy leader, pays tribute by spreading incense yesterday at the May 18 National Cemetery in Gwangju where citizens who were killed in the democratic uprising against military rule in 1980 are buried. Suu Kyi received the Gwangju Human Rights Award yesterday at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, nine years after she was given the award. She was under house arrest in 2004. [NEWSIS]
