STX Offshore will build two patrol ships for ColombiaSTX Offshore & Shipbuilding said yesterday it clinched a 34 billion won ($31 million) contract to build two patrol ships.
Under the deal with Colombia’s Navy, STX Offshore will deliver the vessels by the end of 2014, the company said.
The 250-ton ships can cruise at an average speed of 23 knots (26.5 miles per hour), according to STX Offshore.
STX Offshore also won a similar deal from Korea’s Coast Guard in 2012. Yonhap
