Japan considering sending senior gov't official to Dokdo event: report

테스트

In a move that is certain to anger South Korea, a senior Japanese government official may attend an upcoming event aimed at promoting Tokyo's territorial claim to South Korea's easternmost islets of Dokdo, a Japanese newspaper reported Saturday.

Dokdo, called Takeshima in Japan, has long been a thorn in relations between the two countries. South Korea keeps a small police detachment on the islets, effectively controlling them. [Yonhap]
